We’re Dr Katy and Dr James Nolan, husband-and-wife founders of Vitruvian Dental Studio. Both graduates of the University of Leeds with master’s degrees in dentistry, we created Vitruvian with one vision: to combine exceptional clinical dentistry with an outstanding patient experience.

Founders, Vitruvian Dental Studio
After graduating together in 2018, we signed the lease for our first Vitruvian Dental Studio at Thorpe Park, Leeds, two years later.
Starting with an empty unit, we began turning our vision into reality, creating the space that would become our first clinic.
Opening during Covid brought more stress and uncertainty than we could have imagined, but we held onto a clear vision: to create a more personal, considered and premium way to experience dentistry.
Our commitment to gold-standard clinical work and an exceptional patient experience drove growing demand for care at our Leeds studio.
We reinvested everything back into the clinic, expanding from a small two-surgery practice to four surgeries so we could welcome more patients without compromising the care and experience that brought them to us.
We expanded our team of experts and specialists, bringing a comprehensive range of treatments under one roof — from specialist orthodontics with fixed braces to full-mouth implants and same-day smile makeovers.
Private waiting rooms and ceiling-mounted TVs to watch during treatment made time in the clinic more comfortable, bringing together gold-standard clinical care and a five-star patient experience.
We opened our second studio in Barnsley, bringing the Vitruvian approach to a new community.
Expert dentistry, thoughtful surroundings and genuinely personal care remained at the heart of every decision.
With all four surgeries at our flagship Leeds practice at capacity, it was time to grow again.
We took on the neighbouring 2,000 sq ft unit to create three additional surgeries, an on-site dental laboratory and a dedicated home for our head office.
Our next chapter takes Vitruvian to Liverpool, in the heart of Liverpool One.
Set across three floors and approximately 7,000 sq ft in the city centre, our largest studio yet is being designed to raise the standard of clinical care and patient experience once again.
